GT has no problem with Presbyterian

Playing five days after a heartbreaking loss to Virginia Tech was not the ideal situation for Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson and his Yellow Jackets.

But they had no problems putting away Presbyterian on Saturday night, easily winning 59-3. Presbyterian was not much of a test, but there were some highlights for the Yellow Jackets.

  • Tevin Washington had a career-long 58-yard carry en route to 97 yards rushing and 161 yards passing, with two total touchdowns.

  • B-back Zach Laskey had a terrific game, running for his first career touchdown and leading all rushers with 116 yards on 12 carries.

  • Brandon Watts blocked a field-goal attempt, the team's first since Daniel Drummond blocked a Miami attempt last October.

  • Backup quarterback Vad Lee made his career debut and had some pretty impressive highlights. He posted the sixth-longest pass play (82 yards to Jeff Greene) and the 11th-longest running play (79 yards) in school history.

One thing Johnson will not be happy with -- three lost fumbles. In all, Georgia Tech had 469 yards rushing and 712 total yards of offense. Next up: Virginia.
