Boston Herald reporter Ian R. Rapoport, citing two unnamed sources, writes New England Patriots offensive lineman Nick Kaczur has undergone back surgery and his season outlook appears grim.
Rapoport's sources informed him the surgery took place within the past week to 10 days and expressed doubt Kaczur would be able to play this season.
ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss reported on Aug. 6 that Kaczur might be done for the year because of the injury, but information about Kaczur's status has been scarce since.
Kaczur was New England's starting right tackle last year. He was shifted to left guard to replace unsigned restricted free agent Logan Mankins. Since Kaczur got hurt, third-stringer Dan Connolly has been playing left guard.
