Report: Jets Pro Bowlers MIA from OTA

The New York Jets don't have a running back with a NFL carry for Mark Sanchez to hand off to.

Newark Star-Ledger beat writer Dave Hutchinson reports neither Leon Washington nor Thomas Jones showed up Monday for the team's first organized team activity under new head coach Rex Ryan.

Washington and Jones, both Pro Bowlers last year, want new contracts. An unnamed source close to Washington told Hutchinson the Jets' initial offer was "insulting."

Washington would be tougher to replace than Jones. Washington accounted for 2,337 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns.

The other backs on the Jets' roster are third-round draft choice Shonn Greene, Danny Woodhead (spent last year on injured reserve) and Jehuu Caulcrick (practice squad).
