Hello from the Meadowlands

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- So there's this game taking place at the Meadowlands. Figured I would venture over and see what all the fuss was about.

The New England Patriots will play the New York Jets in a big divisional showdown. A Jets loss would put them in a tough spot already at 0-2, two games behind the Patriots and with only six homes games left on their schedule.

The Weather Channel forecasts 78 degrees and sunny for the 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

ESPN will have you covered. In addition to TV reports from Rachel Nichols, we have both teams covered with regional sites.

Mike Reiss and Mike Rodak are representing ESPNBoston.com and will rattle off Patriots-related updates throughout the day. ESPNNewYork.com will emphasize the Jets angles with reporters Rich Cimini and Jane McManus and columnist Ian O'Connor in attendance.

ESPN Radio, ESPN Telegraph and ESPN Carrier Pigeon also have reporters on hand.

We'll stage a big Countdown Live mosh chat throughout the game, with various contributions from the press box crew plus Scouts Inc. analyst Matt Williamson and ESPN's Stats & Information researchers.

I will monitor the AFC East's two 1 p.m. games from the press box and provide updates as warranted. Be on the lookout for wrap-ups when those inter-conference games are over.
