Gabbert off the board in AFC East mock

With the fourth pick in the 2011 AFC East reader mock draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select ... Blaine Gabbert, quarterback, Missouri.

The marquee quarterbacks are gone. The Buffalo Bills passed on Gabbert in our 32-part mock endeavor, opting for pass-rush help. But the Bengals pounced on him without much hesitation. He elicited twice as many votes as Georgia receiver A.J. Green.

Louisiana State cornerback Patrick Peterson, Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers and Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley divvied up a handful of votes.

Recapping the AFC East reader mock draft:

  1. Carolina Panthers: Auburn quarterback Cam Newton

  2. Denver Broncos: Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus

  3. Buffalo Bills: Texas A&M outside linebacker Von Miller

  4. Cincinnati Bengals: Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert

The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock with the fifth pick. Who will they choose?

If you need to bone up on team needs or thumbnail scouting reports on all the prospects, please zip over to ESPN.com's draft page. Keep in mind this mock draft will be compared to Mel Kiper's and Todd McShay's, and I've been bragging about our chances down at the Regal Beagle.
