Patriots land five, Jets three on top 100 list

Sporting News this week released its list of the NFL's top 100 players, as determined by an absurdly impressive list of experts, many of whom are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Peyton Manning beat out Tom Brady as the league's best player. But Brady's injury must have impacted some on the panel because he received many more first-place votes than Manning, 50-35.

Among AFC East clubs, the New England Patriots placed the most players on the list with five. The New York Jets had three, while the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins had one apiece.

2. Brady, Patriots

8. Randy Moss, Patriots

33. Terrell Owens, Bills

34. Alan Faneca, Jets

48. Joey Porter, Dolphins

62. Matt Light, Patriots

65. Vince Wilfork, Patriots

69. Kris Jenkins, Jets

95. Logan Mankins, Patriots

98. Darrelle Revis, Jets

On Sporting News' blog, Michael Tunison rated the NFL's 10 worst players. Only one AFC East representative made the list. Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens came in at No. 1.
