Will LaDainian Tomlinson be available?

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson could be ailing or missing from Thursday night's game against a familiar foe.

A source tells ESPNNewYork.com that the backup running back hurt his MCL on his final carry in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots. His status for Thursday’s game against the Denver Broncos is uncertain, although Jets coach Rex Ryan thinks Tomlinson will be fine.

New York held a walkthrough practice Monday and Tomlinson did not participate.

Tomlinson is New York's best receiver out of the backfield. He shares carries with Jets starter Shonn Greene and fellow backup Joe McKnight. If Tomlinson is limited or cannot play, McKnight will get a larger role in the offense.
