ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that New York Jets coach Rex Ryan will get fined at least $75,000 for his response to a heckling fan who said New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was better after the first half. Ryan apologized but that won’t save him from a hefty fine.
It appears Ryan learned to keep it between the lines. Ryan won’t change who he is. Trash-talking is a big part of his DNA. But there’s no rule against riling up opposing players and coaches. Ryan will be a lot better off financially as long as he sticks to that formula.
