Jon Anik and Eric Allen recap the Chargers' win over the Dolphins and what it means for Miami (1:23)

The Miami Dolphins traveled all the way across the country to get bashed in the head.

The defending AFC East champs lost the game and their quarterback and fell to 0-3.

The San Diego Chargers pulled away in the second half of an early stalemate to win 23-13 at Qualcomm Stadium.

Chad Pennington left the game with a shoulder injury, giving way to Chad Henne. But it didn't seem to matter who was throwing the ball.

The Dolphins had no semblance of a passing game. Pennington and Henne combined to complete 18 of 31 passes for 146 yards.

Six days ago, Miami's offense looked like a juggernaut against the Indianapolis Colts. The Wildcat chewed up as much real estate as it did time off the clock. But that disappeared without the threat of a damaging throw here or there.

Ronnie Brown had 18 carries for 75 yards. Ricky Williams had the lone touchdown -- just as he did in Week 1 -- to go along with 55 yards on eight attempts.
