Tom Brady is third most powerful athlete

A Super Bowl appearance isn't the only thing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady currently has going for him.

Bloomberg Businessweek did an in-depth ranking system of the most powerful athletes in 2012. Brady was right at the top. He ranked No. 3 overall against every well-known athlete in the world.

Brady ranked ahead of LeBron James (No. 4), Tiger Woods (No. 12) and Kobe Bryant (No. 13). Quarterbacks in the NFL dominated the top of the rankings. Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Brady were the top three.

Brady reportedly made $28 million last season in salaries and endorsements. His major endorsements include Audi, Under Armour and...yes...Uggs shoes, boots and apparel.

"His baby face has made him attractive for big endorsements on everything from water to boots to cowboy hats," Bloomberg Businessweek described of Brady.

The Patriots had three players make the top 100. Starting tight end Rob Gronkowski was No. 77 and receiver Wes Welker was No. 95.
