New England Patriots starting tight end Rob Gronkowski will not practice Thursday because of a left ankle sprain, according to ESPNBoston.com. He injured it during the third quarter of the AFC Championship Game when his foot was caught under Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard.
Gronkowski returned to the game in the fourth quarter, but wore a protective boot after the game. He says he will play in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants. But his injury status will be monitored closely.
The Patriots will wrap up their preparation for the Giants in Foxborough this week before heading off to Indianapolis on Sunday for Super Bowl week.
