Moss not sure how his back held up Sunday

Randy Moss is dogging it again.

That was the criticism from CBSports.com columnist Michael Freeman following the New England Patriots' victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Pro Football Talk overlord Mike Florio also explored the issue.

But Moss, speaking exclusively to Boston Herald reporter Karen Guregian on Thursday, noted how the back injury he suffered two days before the game made playing difficult. Herald teammate Ian R. Rapoport chronicled the interview on his blog.

Moss was listed as questionable on the injury report, but he suited up and managed to catch 10 passes for 116 yards -- numbers that marveled him.

"It just slipped out on me," Moss said. "I don't know what happened to it. I got home Sunday, and I thought to myself 'How did you play?' because I couldn’t really walk on Monday."

Moss said he had no idea how the back injury occurred.

"Some things you know how they happen. Some things you don't," Moss said. "I’m telling you I don’t know how it happened."

Guregian asked Moss for his reaction to being called a lollygagger.

"I’m used to it," Moss replied. "Ain’t nothing new for me."
