There are contract situations involving a pair of superstars in the AFC East that could become an issue. But is New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker or New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis the bigger problem?
Welker is coming off a career year and has a one-year franchise tag. He's over 30 and in line for perhaps his final payday. Welker has yet to sign his franchise tag and is undecided on how he will approach minicamp and training camp. Will this be the biggest contract issue in the AFC East?
Or will Revis cause more of a stir this summer? He signed a four-year contract in 2010, but all the upfront bonus money has been paid. Revis will make $13.5 million over the next two years, which is a major bargain for the best player at that position. Revis also said he’s not sure how he will handle the situation.
Both situations can be issues, or Revis and Welker could opt to play under their current contracts next season. Using our SportsNation poll, vote on whether Welker or Revis will be the bigger issue. You can also share your thoughts in the comment section below.
