The New England Patriots have talent all across the board. But one thing that New England has done very well is stockpile draft picks to acquire young talent.
The result is a No. 1 ranking from the Football Outsiders for the best under-25 talent in the NFL. With tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez leading the way, joined by players like safety Patrick Chung, starting left tackle Nate Solder, tailback Stevan Ridley and first-round draft picks Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower, it’s hard to argue.
New England had 15 significant contributors last season who qualify this season as well, but we really need only to discuss the three who helped produce the No. 3 offensive DVOA in the league. If you can believe it, tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez are still only 23 years old.
According to the Football Outsiders, the future doesn't look as bright for the rest of the AFC East. The Miami Dolphins were ranked No. 25, the Buffalo Bills were No. 29 and the New York Jets were No. 30 in under-25 talent.
