On Seau, Patriots say nothing

Good afternoon, AFC East fans. My plane just landed in Buffalo, giving me one more touchdown than the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns scored here Sunday.

While I was traveling from Monday night's compelling contest in Land Shark Stadium, the Versus network announced linebacker Junior Seau had signed a contract to play for the New England Patriots.

"I'm very fortunate and honored to be involved with two class organizations -- the New England Patriots and Versus," Seau said in a press release. He has been the star of the reality show "Sports Jobs with Junior Seau" on the network. "I want to thank the management of both for making my return to the NFL with the New England Patriots a reality."

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick doesn't like when others make official announcements about what's going on with his team, and I can only assume that's especially true when it's coming from a network that's known for bull riding and the Tour de France.

When asked about the announcement during a regularly scheduled Tuesday conference call, Belichick wasn't impressed.

"We haven’t announced anything," Belichick said.

In reference to the Versus press release, Belichick added "We don’t have anything to say about it."
