Dolphins lead AFC East in drops

This goes in the not-so-surprised category: The Miami Dolphins lead the AFC East in drops after two games.

Miami’s receivers also are fifth in the NFL with five drops in two games. It was a much-maligned group that struggled with catching the football since the spring. The Dolphins’ receivers must help rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill be successful.

Here are the drop numbers in the AFC East, according to ESPN Stats & Information:

New England's four drops have come from receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd (two each). Each will need to pick up his game with the ankle injury to tight end Aaron Hernandez.
