Can a return trip to Houston, Williams' old stomping grounds, jumpstart his 2012 season? The Bills certainly hope so.
Buffalo spent $100 million on Williams in the offseason and mostly got injuries and excuses in the first seven games. The underachieving Williams had wrist surgery during the bye week. Now, there are no more excuses for disappearing in games.
Williams is returning to Houston for the first time since leaving the Texans. Houston drafted Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in 2006 but didn’t pony up enough to sign him to an extension. Williams should be highly motivated to stick it to his former team.
Perhaps Buffalo’s trip to Houston is coming at the right time. Williams was a dominant player for years at Reliant Stadium. The Bills need that version of "Super Mario" to show up once again.
