Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC East:
The New England Patriots are expected to sign receiver Donte' Stallworth.
Morning take: This probably means bad news for receiver Julian Edelman, who was in a walking boot after the game. Stallworth is familiar with New England after spending time with the Patriots in training camp. Edelman could be out for an extended period.
Why did Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin pull starting defensive ends Cameron Wake and Jared Odrick for most of the final drive against New England?
Morning take: This was a brain cramp by a rookie head coach. The Patriots ate up the clock by running right at Miami's defensive line, which included two backups. But Philbin is learning on the job, too.
Are the New York Jets leaning toward starting quarterback Greg McElroy?
Morning take: This would be an interesting decision. We will have more on New York’s quarterback situation later (wink, wink).
Buffalo Bills receiver Donald Jones (calf) expects to return next week against the St. Louis Rams.
Morning take: After losing center Eric Wood, getting back a starting receiver is a welcome addition. The St. Louis Rams are playing some of their best football and Buffalo needs all hands on deck.
