Morning take: Patriots add WR Stallworth

Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC East:

Morning take: This probably means bad news for receiver Julian Edelman, who was in a walking boot after the game. Stallworth is familiar with New England after spending time with the Patriots in training camp. Edelman could be out for an extended period.

  • Why did Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin pull starting defensive ends Cameron Wake and Jared Odrick for most of the final drive against New England?

Morning take: This was a brain cramp by a rookie head coach. The Patriots ate up the clock by running right at Miami's defensive line, which included two backups. But Philbin is learning on the job, too.

Morning take: This would be an interesting decision. We will have more on New York’s quarterback situation later (wink, wink).

  • Buffalo Bills receiver Donald Jones (calf) expects to return next week against the St. Louis Rams.

Morning take: After losing center Eric Wood, getting back a starting receiver is a welcome addition. The St. Louis Rams are playing some of their best football and Buffalo needs all hands on deck.
