Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC East:
It is time for the Miami Dolphins to go into evaluation mode in the final three weeks of the season.
Morning take: The biggest evaluation is Miami rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He's hit a wall in the second half of the season and needs another string of good games going into the offseason.
If the season ended today, the New England Patriots would have the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the AFC.
Morning take: New England is one game out of the top spot and now owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over Houston. The Patriots may as well go for the top spot in case they meet Houston again.
Here is a little-known stat: New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is 19-16 as a starter on the road.
Morning take: That is fairly impressive because it’s hard to win games away from home. Sanchez does bring some intangibles, but does it override all his flaws?
The Buffalo Bills could get defensive starters Aaron Williams and Mark Anderson back next week.
Morning take: It’s a little late for a playoff push, but these are welcome additions. Both players need to show they deserve big roles on the team in 2013.
