Morning take: Rex Ryan's long-term outlook

Here are the most interesting stories Saturday in the AFC East:

  • Despite being on the hot seat, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan says he wants to stay for the next 20 years.

Morning take: Ryan needs to take it one year at a time. The Jets have a first-year general manager in John Idzik, who won't be afraid to hire his own guy in 2014 if Ryan has his third consecutive non-winning season.

Morning take: This means the Dolphins will not get updates to Sun Life Stadium, which probably won't get to host an upcoming Super Bowl as a result. The awful Miami Marlins stadium agreement made things tough for the Dolphins to begin with.

Morning take: Talent isn't a question for Manuel. It's more about being coached up and putting it all together at the next level.

  • The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers could hold joint practices for the second consecutive year.

Morning take: This is something Bill Belichick likes to do to keep training camp fresh. Teammates get tired of hitting one another over and over, so a change of pace is needed.
