Here are the most interesting stories Monday in the AFC East:
Did the Miami Dolphins get a pair of free-agent steals with right tackle Tyson Clabo and cornerback Brent Grimes?
Morning take: I was particularly impressed with Grimes last week in practice. He is a playmaking corner, which is some Miami lacked last year. The Dolphins need Grimes to stay healthy after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in 2012.
More text messages were released of Buffalo Bills star defensive end Mario Williams from the lawyer of his ex-fiancé.
Morning take: These text messages by Williams indicated that his ex can keep the engagement ring, which is worth about $780,000. This case continues to drag on and it may be best for Williams to let it go.
While we are still on the legal theme, the lawyer for New York Jets running back Mike Goodson says his case is not as bad as some politicians.
Morning take: I don’t know if that’s a good defense to lower the bar. Goodson is facing drugs and weapons charges, and the Jets will let the legal system play out to determine what to do next.
Is there reason to be concerned about New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes’ absence from organized team activities.
Morning take: Spikes says he just prefers working out on his own, so we take him at his word. The bigger indicator will be mandatory camp in June, which Spikes is expected to attend.
