New England can now shift all of its attention to rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson. He was the No. 59 overall pick in the second round and has a chance to compete for a starting job.
There is very little drama with rookie contracts following the latest collective bargaining agreement in 2011, which placed a wage scale on first-year players. Rookies are slotted to make a certain amount based on draft position, and there's not much to negotiate. Look for the Patriots to get Dobson under contract soon, as well.
