Morning take: Mike Goodson impresses

Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC East:

Morning take: Goodson’s talent is apparent. That is why the Jets signed him to a three-year contract and stuck with him despite off-the-field issues. But will Goodson be around long enough to win a starting job?

Morning take: Spikes is physical against the run but can be a little stiff trying to cover slot receivers and quick tight ends. Spikes is expected at mandatory mini-camp next month and aims to show how much he’s improved.

  • Will Miami Dolphins second-year tight end Michael Egnew find a role in 2013?

Morning take: Egnew showed next to nothing last season, but I’m at least seeing flashes in practice this year. Still, he has a long way to go to prove he can be dependable for the Dolphins.

Morning take: Buffalo is experimenting with the absence of Pro Bowl safety Jairus Byrd. Williams is an aggressive tackler and should contribute on special teams right away. But he also must stay ready in case there's an injury during the regular season.
