Bills and Monday's 'second wave' market

Hundreds of players hit the waiver wire on Saturday evening, and with three open roster spots, the Buffalo Bills were expected to be major players in claiming players on Sunday.

Instead, the Bills claimed just one player -- cornerback Brandon Burton -- leaving their roster at 51 players.

Meanwhile, there were 45 players across the NFL who found new teams Sunday via waiver claims. Most of the teams who put in the claims already had 53 players, forcing them to make more cuts to accommodate their new players.

In essence, a "second wave" of players will hit the waiver wire on Monday. While it's a much smaller group to choose from, these are players that had initially "made the team," so there could be more interest in their services.
