Eric Wood's extension adds four years

First-year Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley made his team's most significant financial commitment to date on Friday, signing center Eric Wood to a four-year contract extension.

Per NFL Players Association records, the deal extends Wood's contract four seasons, with the following base salaries:

2014 -- $3.35 million

2015 -- $4.05 million

2016 -- $4.125 million

2017 -- $4.125 million

The Bills also made a sizable commitment to cornerback Leodis McKelvin in March, re-signing him through 2016 with a value of about $20 million, the Associated Press reported.

So which Bills players might be next in line for a new deal? Tight end Scott Chandler and defensive lineman Alex Carrington may be the top candidates. Both are set to become free agents next spring, and Carrington in particular has impressed the new coaching staff.
