Injury Report: Nelson misses with illness

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Wide receiver David Nelson was absent from the New York Jets practice due to an illness, and receiver Santonio Holmes was able to practice in a limited capacity after all, coach Rex Ryan explained.

Still, the team may have some wide receiver issues, with Jeremy Kerley also limited, and Kellen Winslow taking his pitch count day off for the week. As a result, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Stephen Hill hasn’t really had many of his reps cut.

Linebacker Garrett McIntyre said his knee injury was a recurrence of an old problem, and that it was improving. Although he is albe to do more, he didn’t have a timetable for returning to the field.

Jets center Nick Mangold has had ice on his right hand after practice. He has practice fully despite it.

Tight end Konrad Reuland will need to have surgery on the knee he injured during the Buffalo game. Ryan said he stretched his ACL but didn’t tear it, but he was still placed on the IR because of the surgery and recovery time.
