Wicked hit knocks Welker to the sideline

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Wes Welker is wearing a raincoat and watching the New England Patriots' offense from the sideline.

The Patriots' receptions leader was torpedoed by Pittsburgh Steelers free safety Ryan Clark on an incomplete pass. Clark blasted Welker square in the chest, knocking Welker backward and onto his head.

Clark was penalized for unnecessary roughness for hitting a defenseless receiver.

Last week, Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder detonated Welker on a similar hit, sending him to the sideline for medical evaluation. But Welker quickly returned to that game.
