AFC East's best: No. 19 Steve Johnson

The countdown of my top 25 AFC East players continues, one weekday at a time ...

JohnsonJohnsonAbout the choice: Johnson had a wonderful season, notching team-highs with 82 receptions, 1,073 yards and 10 touchdowns. Even with veteran Lee Evans on the field, Johnson was Buffalo's go-to receiver. ESPN Stats & Information charted him for 142 targets, sixth in the league. Johnson would've ranked higher on my rundown with a deeper track record and fewer drops. He tied for third in the league with nine drops, including that infamous end-zone flub in overtime against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Key fact: Johnson's 10 receiving touchdowns came one short of the franchise record set by Bill Brooks in 1995.

Hint about No. 18: Time for the first of many offensive linemen.
