Morning take: Lucky Steelers

Here are the most interesting stories Monday in the AFC North:

Morning take: I'm not sure how officials couldn't determine who recovered Ben Roethlisberger's fumble. But the Steelers were very fortunate, and occasionally good teams get these kind of breaks during the year.

Morning take: Good for Bowens, who was almost released before the season. The veteran received little playing time but stayed ready for his moment, which came Sunday.

  • The Cincinnati Bengals turned to right tackle Andre Smith to start against the Atlanta Falcons.

Morning take: Smith's performance wasn't very good. He had two false-start penalties and was at fault for at least one sack by Atlanta's John Abraham.

Morning take: After playing seven demanding games, perhaps this two-week respite comes at a great time. The Ravens would have lost to a lot of NFL teams not named the Bills with the way they played Sunday.
