BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis will miss Wednesday's practice for the second straight week, head coach Eric Mangini said. But the Browns (5-10) still expect Hillis to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4).
The workload has been heavy all year for Hillis, and the Browns have been fortunate that he stayed healthy up until this point. Hillis is Cleveland's leading rusher (1,164 yards) and second-leading receiver (60 catches).
"I think during the course of the season everybody gets tired and everybody gets dinged up," Mangini said. "He's in tremendous shape and he takes care of his body really well. ... But there's going to be wear and tear on all the guys."
As Hillis has slowed down, so have the Browns. Cleveland enters Week 17 on a three-game losing streak.
