Here are the most interesting storylines in the AFC North:
Second-year linebacker Lawrence Timmons was impressive in his first start of the preseason Thursday night with four tackles against the Carolina Panthers.
Morning take: We've been impressed with Timmons since we saw him blow up teammate Gary Russell during a goal-line drill in the second week of training camp. He may not start right away in the regular season, but he will make an impact.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Rudi Johnson was miffed that he didn't play a single down in their preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts.
Morning take: The Bengals are calling Johnson's trade reports just rumors. Yet the team is doing everything it can to suggest he's on the market.
The Baltimore Ravens completed their preseason Thursday not knowing who their starting quarterback will be.
Morning take: Ravens head coach John Harbaugh brought up a good point that the starting quarterback is just one of 53 positions. But it is the league's most important position.
The Cleveland Browns starters played well, but fell to 0-4 in the preseason with a 16-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Morning take: After a somewhat perplexing and injury-plagued preseason, it's time to finally find out if the Browns are for real. The Dallas Cowboys are up next Sept. 7.
