Previewing Steelers' Super Bowl schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Super Bowl week officially kicks off Monday, and the AFC North blog will be your Pittsburgh Steelers headquarters every step of the way as they prepare for the Green Bay Packers.

Here is an early preview of Pittsburgh's schedule:

  • The Steelers will arrive at Dallas/Fort Worth airport at approximately 1:30 p.m. ET time and will meet with the media for the first time a couple of hours later. We will get some early thoughts from Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin and some of his key players.

  • Tuesday is the most hectic time of the week, as Super Bowl media day takes place for both teams. There are some interesting and often zany things that come out of this spectacle. When people often refer to the "media circus," that is a perfect description for what goes on during Super Bowl media day.

  • Things become more serious on Wednesday as both teams really focus on the on-field preparations. The Steelers will practice at TCU in Fort Worth and players will be available on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Availability shuts down for the players Friday. But Tomlin and Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy will share some final thoughts with the media on the big game. Both teams are isolated on Saturday and will take the field Sunday for a 6:29 p.m. ET kickoff at Cowboys Stadium.
