Tuesday is the deadline for players with "franchise" and "transition" tags to reach long-term extensions with their respective teams.
In the AFC North, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and offensive tackles Stacy Andrews of the Cincinnati Bengals and Max Starks of the Pittsburgh Steelers were all "tagged" with one-year deals this spring.
The Ravens have had talks with Suggs about a long-term deal, but it seems unlikely an extension will be reached within the next 24 hours. The Bengals and Steelers seem perfectly content to let Andrews and Starks, respectively, play out the season.
If the status quo remains, the trio would become unrestricted free agents in 2009.
