The NFL announced Wednesday that Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini was fined $25,000 for his involvement in not disclosing quarterback Brett Favre’s arm injury last season while with the New York Jets.
The league handed out $125,000 in total fines, which also included $75,000 to the Jets and another $25,000 to Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Aware that the incident was being looked into, Mangini said earlier Wednesday it was a “league matter” and that he didn’t have anything to add to the situation.
Update: Mangini released a statement on the matter Wednesday night.
"I have worked with the league on this matter and now consider it closed,” Mangini said. “My focus is on our preparations for the [Denver] Broncos."
