There is something about the second half of football games that is devastating to the Cleveland Browns.

After giving up 24 unanswered points after intermission in Week 1, the Browns again allowed 17 straight points in the second half of Sunday’s 27-6 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Because of their lack of overall talent, the Browns (0-2) do not have much margin for error. Cleveland played decently in the first half but turnovers and sloppy play is eventually how this game got away. In two games the Browns have been outscored 41-7 in the second half.

Denver’s Elvis Dumervil had four sacks against Cleveland, which registered just 11 first downs and 200 yards of total offense. The Browns also allowed 449 yards to the Broncos (2-0). So Cleveland coach Eric Mangini has a lot to fix on both sides of the ball if he wants to turn this team around.

Things don’t get any easier for the Browns. They travel to play the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) next week in an AFC North rivalry game.
