Morning take: Ravens edition

Friday the AFC North blog has a special Baltimore Ravens edition of "Morning take."

Morning take: The Broncos are playing like the old Ravens this year, allowing just 11 points per game. But six games do not equal a legacy. Let’s see what Denver does over the long haul.

  • After practicing Wednesday, Ravens left tackle Jared Gaither (neck) was downgraded during Thursday’s session.

Morning take: Gaither said this week that he plans to play, so perhaps the Ravens are just being extra cautious. This will be something to monitor over the next couple of days.

Morning take: Baltimore's secondary hasn’t stopped many receivers, particularly in man coverage. So expect a lot of double teams to come Marshall's way Sunday.

  • On the other side of the football, Baltimore receiver Derrick Mason said he has respect for Denver cornerback Champ Bailey.

Morning take: This is a good matchup between two vets. But Bailey's athleticism should help him win a majority of these battles when Denver decides to use man coverage.
