Ravens' preseason starting lineup

This is the depth chart on the Ravens’ official release for their preseason opener:

WR Torrey Smith

WR Anquan Boldin

LT Bryant McKinnie

LG Bobbie Williams

C Matt Birk

RG Marshal Yanda

RT Michael Oher

TE Ed Dickson

QB Joe Flacco

FB Vonta Leach

RB Ray Rice

Stat to remember: Flacco’s 44 regular-season wins are the most by a quarterback in his first four seasons in NFL history.

Best battle: There really isn’t a competition on offense as long as McKinnie and Williams don’t decline sharply at this stage of their careers.

Injury watch: Birk hasn’t missed a regular-season game since the 2005 season, but he will be sidelined for the preseason opener with back spasms. Rookie Gino Gradkowski will start in his place.

DT Haloti Ngata

NT Terrence Cody

DE Arthur Jones

OLB Courtney Upshaw

ILB Jameel McClain

ILB Ray Lewis

OLB Paul Kruger

LCB Lardarius Webb

SS Bernard Pollard

FS Ed Reed

RCB Cary Williams

Stat to remember: Reed’s 57 interceptions are the most in the league since 2002.

Best battle: At the start of camp, I thought it would be tough for Williams to hold off Jimmy Smith, the team’s 2011 first-round pick. But, once again, an injury could stop Smith (back) from winning the starting job in camp.

Injury watch: Upshaw, the team's top pick in this year's draft, has missed seven straight practices with a sprained right shoulder. This could lead to more playing time for Sergio Kindle.
