AFC North quarterback report card

A look at how the quarterbacks around the division fared in Week 8:

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals

Stats: Bye week

Comment: The biggest problem with Dalton has been interceptions. He has thrown an interception in seven straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL behind John Skelton. Dalton is also the first quarterback to throw an interception in his first seven games of a season since Eli Manning in 2007.

Season QBR: 52.7 (21st among quarterbacks)

Season Grade: C

Brandon Weeden, Cleveland Browns

Stats: 11-for-27 (40.7 percent) for 129 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Comment: The stats suggest Weeden deserves an 'F' for Sunday's game. But the conditions in Cleveland -- windy, wet and cold -- put those numbers in a different light. When you watched the game, it felt like Weeden put together a veteran, workmanlike effort. He didn't turn the ball over, which is a factor in a one-point win. He also didn't get frustrated by a couple of key drops.

QBR: 18.4 (26th among quarterbacks this week)

Grade: C

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

Stats: Bye

Comment: It's tough to grade Flacco because you never know which quarterback is going to show up. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Flacco has posted a 84.2 QBR at home, which is second-best QBR at home this season. On the road, Flacco is posting a 14.3 QBR, the second-worst QBR on the road this season.

Season QBR: 53.9 (15th among quarterbacks)

Season Grade: B-minus

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: 24-of-33 (72.7 percent) for 222 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Comment: Where Roethlisberger made his mark was in the red zone. He was 7 of 9 inside the Redskins' 20-yard line with three touchdowns and one dropped pass (Chris Rainey). Roethlisberger continually found the open target, throwing scoring passes to two tight ends and a fullback. It wasn't a flashy effort because Roethlisberger didn't throw deep downfield. But it was highly effective one.

QBR: 90.2 (sixth among quarterbacks this week)

Grade: A
