Let's see if the streaks hold up for the AFC North teams. The Ravens have won 15 consecutive games at home. The Browns have lost 12 straight games on the road. And the Bengals have won three games in a row after losing four consecutive times. Now, here are my iron-clad, take-it-to-the-bank picks for Sunday:
Ravens 23, Steelers 16: This is pick based on Ben Roethlisberger not playing. The Ravens, though, won't be at their best, either. Coming across country off an emotional victory in San Diego takes a toll on a team and Baltimore will look sluggish early. Just like last Sunday, the difference in the end will be Ray Rice. It won't be pretty, but the Ravens will celebrate a sweep of the Steelers and a playoff berth Sunday.
Bengals 20, Chargers 17: There was some thought of predicting a Chargers upset win. But San Diego hasn't beaten a team other than lowly Kansas City (twice) since Week 2. The Bengals can't slip up in San Diego, right? The X-factor is the number of Philip Rivers turnovers, and the key is getting pressure on him. Rivers has been sacked 32 times this year, the second-highest total among starting quarterbacks. The Bengals' defense has registered 35 sacks, second-best in the league.
Browns 26, Raiders 20: The Browns haven't won a road game since September 2011 and their offense has been in a funk the past five games. The best remedy for your problems is to play the reeling Raiders, who have given up at least 34 points in losing four straight games. Of course, whenever I pick the Browns, they always seem to lose. So, maybe this isn't a good sign for Cleveland.
Week 12 record: 2-1. Season record: 22-11 (.667).
Browns 20, Steelers 14 (my prediction: Steelers 20, Browns 10)
Bengals 34, Raiders 10 (my prediction: Bengals 28, Raiders 24)
Ravens 16, Chargers 13, OT (my prediction: Ravens 23, Chargers 16)
