PITTSBURGH -- The return of Ben Roethlisberger hasn't jump-started the Steelers' offense.
Pittsburgh has been held to 123 yards of total offense as the Steelers trail San Diego, 13-3, at halftime. In his first game back after missing three games with rib and shoulder injuries, Roethlisberger is 9-of-20 for 105 yards.
Roethlisberger hasn't been helped by drops from Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown deep downfield. In a telling stat, Roethlisberger leads the Steelers in rushing in the first half with 13 yards. Jonathan Dwyer has 12 yards on six carries.
The Steelers avoided being shut out in the first half when Roethlisberger completed passes of 31 yards to Emmanuel Sanders and 17 yards to Wallace. Those led to a 49-yard field goal by Shaun Suisham as the first half ended.
