The Ravens officially fell to the AFC's fourth seed after the Patriots routed the Texans on Monday night.
Baltimore (9-4), which had been the No. 3 seed last week before losing at Washington, is now one game behind New England (10-3) and Denver (10-3) in the battle for the second seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Ravens play host to the Broncos on Sunday.
As far as the Ravens' playoff scenarios go, they can clinch a playoff berth if either the Steelers or Bengals lose. Cincinnati plays at Philadelphia on Thursday night, and Pittsburgh plays at Dallas on Sunday. The Ravens can clinch the AFC North by winning Sunday or by the Steelers and Bengals both losing.
If the season ended today, the Ravens would face the Colts in a wild-card game in Baltimore. The Steelers, who currently hold the sixth seed because of their win over Cincinnati, would play at the Broncos in the first round (this year, it would be against Peyton Manning and not Tim Tebow).
