A weekly examination of the Steelers' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 16 | Last Week: 19 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
The Steelers moved up a spot but remain behind the team they outlasted Sunday at Lambeau Field. The Steelers have hovered in this part of the rankings for a while now, and they figure to end up around where they started in the rankings if they beat the Browns on Sunday at Heinz Field. The Steelers will try to beat the four-win Browns for the 10th consecutive time in Pittsburgh. They haven't lost to the Browns at home since 2003.
Here's how the panel voted Pittsburgh:
Ashley Fox: 16
Mike Sando: 16
Kevin Seifert: 18
John Clayton: 17
Dan Graziano: 17
Jamison Hensley: 17
The Steelers, who lost their first four games for the first time since 1968, will try to finish the season with a three-game winning streak and an 8-8 record. Doing so might be enough to get them into the playoffs. The Steelers need to beat the Browns and also get help from the Bengals, Jets and Chiefs. The odds of the Steelers sneaking into the playoffs still aren't good. But at this point last week, those odds were astronomical.
