A look at Browns' offseason schedule

The Browns start offseason workouts on Monday, a process that begins with strength and conditioning at their practice facility and culminates with mandatory minicamp practices in the middle of June.

Since the Browns have a new head coach in Mike Pettine they are allowed to start their offseason workouts two weeks earlier than teams that didn’t make a coaching change after the 2013 season. They are also allowed an extra minicamp, which will be held April 29-May 1. The first minicamp is voluntary but really that is in name only as the Browns should have close to full participation for those practices.

The Browns have 10 OTAs scheduled -- they are voluntary practices -- and those will be held on the following dates: May 20-21, May 23, May 27-28, June 2-3 and June 5-6.

OTAs will be followed by mandatory minicamp -- those practices are June 10-12 -- after which players are off until the start of training camp.

The voluntary minicamp will be held before the draft, giving Pettine and his staff a small window to evaluate players before a draft in which the Browns have two first-round picks and three of the first 35 selections.
