Bengals finally get CB Leon Hall back

CINCINNATI -- Just in time for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, the Cincinnati Bengals saw one of their key players return to practice for the first time in two weeks.

Cornerback Leon Hall, who injured his hamstring at the end of the Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers, worked out in a limited capacity Wednesday afternoon. While speaking to reporters earlier in the day, Hall was cryptic about whether he thought he might play at Buffalo. Most signs seem to suggest he will indeed give the hamstring a go.

"I feel pretty good," Hall said. "Obviously I haven't played football but we'll see how it goes."

Asked if he thought he had a shot to play this weekend, Hall replied: "I hope so. Two weeks is long enough."

This marks the second time in two years that Hall has dealt with a hamstring injury that held him out for two weeks. Just like this year, the Bengals brought Chris Crocker out of free agency in order to shore up the depth at corner while Hall healed. Just like this year, the Crocker addition worked well for them.

While Hall practiced for the first time in two weeks, it has now been 10 days since defensive end Michael Johnson has been able to contribute to the team. He informed trainers after Cincinnati's game at Cleveland nearly two weeks ago that he thought he experienced a concussion. When they evaluated him in the locker room afterward, they learned that he did.

Johnson appeared to show some sign of progress Wednesday, though, as he went through what appeared to be moderate conditioning during the open portion of practice for the first time since the concussion was diagnosed. He previously ha not been out on the practice fields as he went through the training staff's concussion protocol. If he cannot play this weekend, Johnson will be replaced by Wallace Gilberry for a second straight week.

Here's the full injury report from Wednesday's Bengals practice:

Did Not Practice: CB Brandon Ghee (thigh), DE Michael Johnson (concussion)
