The Mannings: 'Thank you.' 'No, thank you'

The Colts are looking to move to 3-0 against the NFC East with a win Sunday at Philadelphia.

The Giants are 1-2 against the AFC South.

Peyton Manning and Indianapolis got the better of Eli Manning and New York back in Week 2.

Peyton Manning told Indy reporters this week about the back-and-forth the brothers have when their divisions are playing each other. He was asked if they’ve been able to switch binders on opponents this year.

“A little bit, we do," Peyton Manning said. "Of course after Houston beat us I said, ‘I can’t help you on Houston.’ So he went down there and took care of business there. There’s a lot of thanking each other. Eli thanked me when we beat the Redskins. I know I’m sure the Giants will be pulling for the Colts this weekend. You can compare notes. There have been some new defensive coordinators in the division, so maybe [you’re] not quite as familiar with some of the new schemes.

“Even four years ago when we played the NFC East, you kind of compare notes, but [there’s] nothing really he can tell me about Philly that I don’t already know. They’re a blitzing defense, they have excellent players, Asante Samuel is one of the top cover corners and it’s a loud, tough place to play. It’s going to be a tough challenge.”

The Eagles are excellent coming off bye weeks -- they are 11-0 coming off an off week since 1999. The Colts are a league-best 50-18 on the road since 2002 and have won their last six against the NFC.

Something’s got to give Sunday.
