Houston hosts Favre-led Vikings Aug. 31

HOUSTON -- Just arrived in Houston, heard the Brett Favre news and took a quick look at the AFC South schedules.

Week 3 matchups for a couple of our teams are going to be very interesting: Jacksonville is in Philadelphia for an Aug. 27 game, the first for which Michael Vick's eligible to play. And now Houston will be hosting the Favre-led Vikings on Aug. 31 at Reliant Stadium in a preseason "Monday Night Football" matchup.

If Favre plays at the Metrodome against Kansas City Friday night, the Houston game will be his second preseason game and will undoubtedly create a big buzz in Houston and on ESPN.

Perhaps the AFC South Blog will be in line for a second preseason trip to Houston. That Sage-Rosenfels-returns storyline just took a big hit.

Houston right tackle Eric Winston (@ericwinston) wasn't shy about his feelings regarding Favre. he recently tweeted three times.

Man, how bad did Farve play the Vikings and get everything he wanted?? No camp.. Check! $10 mil... Check! Super Bowl.. We'll see..

Also, a big shout out to my boy Sage in Minn., he has been nothing but a class act through it all. He did everything he could!

I hope they need him down the stretch and performs the same way he did in the first preseason game
