Titans bank on Locker as QB of the future

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans didn’t draft a quarterback of the future who wasn’t endorsed by their new offensive coordinator.

Jake Locker, meet Chris Palmer.

Tennessee is clearly banking on a guy with great leadership skills being able to throw better from the pocket than he did at Washington, where he was the victim of a leaky line and a group of receivers that dropped a lot of passes.

He should have better protection from a line coached by two Hall of Famers coach Mike Munchak and offensive line coach Bruce Matthews.

Chris Mortensen just said a football person called Locker the “anti-Vince Young.”

That’s definitely something the Titans were looking for.

I’ll be back with more soon. We’re about to get Locker on a conference call and some Titans officials in a news conference.
