Ansel Adams, I am not.
But the blog has included what I’ve believed were functional photo entries from training camps in the past. I’ve snapped away over the last three days in Jacksonville, hoping to do the same.
My pictures are a running joke, however, with our blog editors. They vetoed my shots of beautiful moments including these: Blaine Gabbert at a news conference, D’Anthony Smith sailing through mid-air, a huddle set against a pretty sunset, Aaron Kampman stretching or Austen Lane dominating in the Oklahoma Drill. I didn't even send in some others -- Rashean Mathis scaring a young autograph seeker, the hallway view into a coaches office with film on the wall, Jarett Dillard lining up to run a route against Dirk Koetter's son after a practice, Eben Britton and Eugene Monroe chatting with veteran beat man Vito Stellino, Tiquan Underwood's Kid'n Play high fade.
Close your eyes and picture all of that, but cleaner and more crisp than I was able to capture.
I pleaded for something and they said the sweet moment with backup quarterback Luke McCown with his son, Micah Sean wearing his helmet could work if I was willing to pollute my blog with a less-than professional quality picture off of my iPhone.
Of course I am. A good part of these camp trips are intended to help you see behind the scenes. Maybe I took lousy pictures on this stop. I got some pointers and will continue to seek chances to point and click at my next three stops.
So hopefully they’ll let me use more than one when I send them in.
UPDATE: At my final Jaguars practice Tuesday night, it hit me: Instagram. I know not everyone has an iPhone or an iPad. I think you can find it for Droids, too. If you do have one of them, simply grab the app, go to find friends and add "pkuharsky" to your feed.
It will load you up with all the pictures I took and put there while in Jacksonville.
I'll make the feed a daily thing the rest of the camp tour, so you'll find frequent updates.
