On Colts in shotgun, red zone and run defense

Our usual excellent contribution from ESPN Stats & Information, this time on Peyton Manning and the Colts:

Manning tore apart the Cardinals secondary out of the shotgun on Sunday night. Manning's 142.6 passer rating out of the shotgun against the Cardinals trails only Drew Brees' perfect passer rating game in Week 1 against the Lions.

Manning was great in the red zone. Entering Week 3, Manning was tied for the 25th in the league with four pass attempts in the red zone and he had the worst passer rating. Manning completed four passes in the red zone Sunday night, three for touchdowns.

The Cardinals struggled to run the ball, even when the Colts had their nickel and dime packages on the field. If only Indianapolis encountered running attacks like this one the rest of the way.
