What I think the Colts are thinking

What I think they’re thinking at the headquarters of the Indianapolis Colts this afternoon…

We found out Chuck Pagano was sick and would be away from the team, battling leukemia, it gave us something to fight for. We used it as major fuel for a great second half in an improbable win over Green Bay on Oct. 7. We had a big letdown against the Jets after that and got beaten badly. Somewhat understandably, people thought it was just a one-week thing. No matter how motivated, it’s hard to maintain the sort of emotionally-charged play connected to something like a coach’s illness. Except... here we are, having done so three weeks in a row, coming off a win against the Dolphins that puts us in a great spot. Before and after, we got to hear from Pagano, who watched us play. Yes, we’re playing for him. Keep saying we’ve got a thin roster not stocked with enough talent. We’ll take our rookie quarterback and this family we’ve pieced together and head to Jacksonville for Thursday night.
